1 lg Onion ; chopped
1 c Sugar
1 ts Salt
1 ts Dry mustard
1 Carrots ; shredded, up to 2
1 lg head cabbage ; chopped
1 c Cider vinegar
1/2 ts Celery seed
1 lg Bell pepper ; chopped
3/4 c Vegetable oil
3/4 ts Turmeric ; (optional)
This is great and keeps weeks (if it lasts that long). In a saucepan, mix first 7 ingredients. Bring to a boil and pour over remaining ingredients. Marinate in refrigerator at least 1 day.
